This move reunited him with Louise Trotter, with whom he previously collaborated at Joseph and Lacoste. Thomas assumed the lead design role in March 2025, following Trotter's departure in December 2024 to join Bottega Veneta after three seasons. His initial collection for Spring/Summer 2026, showcased at the brand's headquarters, embodied a continuation of the refined and wearable design principles he and Trotter had collaboratively cultivated.

The revitalization of Carven has been a challenging undertaking. After filing for bankruptcy in early 2018, the brand was acquired by China's Icicle Group, now known as ICCF Group. The brand also experienced considerable flux in its creative leadership. The fashion house confirmed that announcements regarding its future direction and its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2027 collection will be made later this year. Thomas's sophomore collection, lauded for its enhanced assurance, featured notable pieces like tank dresses and utility-inspired coats, drawing comparisons to Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's iconic style in "Love Story."
